Bahrain International Exhibition & Convention Center

The Bahrain International Exhibition & Convention Centre is an exhibition centre in Manama, Bahrain. BIECC has 14,000 square meters of exhibition space and 1,400 square meters of function space.

Traditional Houses of Muharraq

Muharraq was once the capital of Bahrain. The houses here show Bahrain Cultural Heritage.
They include the historical Shaikh Ebrahim Centre for Culture & Research, the Pearl Merchant’s House (Beit Siyadi), the Coffee House (Beit Al Qahwa) and the Children’s Library (Iqra’a House).

Al Fateh Grand Mosque

The Al Fateh Mosque is Bahrain’s largest mosque. The huge domed building hosts the National Library.  The mosque was built in the 1990s.

Bahrain Fort

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Bahrain Fort is a dramatic 16th century site built by the Portuguese on the remains of previous settlements that could be traced to the Dilmun era, circa 2,800BC. Landscape and sea surround the fort, while its interior consists of a series of rooms on many levels.

Barbar Temple

This is an archaeological site located in the village of Barbar. Three temples have been discovered there, the oldest dating back to 3000BC. The temples were thought to have been constructed to worship gods, as it contains two altars and a natural water spring. During its excavation tools, weapons, pottery, and many small pieces of gold were discovered.

Vertical Garden

A 'vertical garden', that acts as a landmark for entrance to the old quarter of the island. This is the first of its kind in the Middle East. It is home to 200 species of plants, comprising of a single wall with an arch, planted with salt- and heat-tolerant plant including Aloe.

Hawar Islands

The Islands have a unique environment and habitat for endangered species. They are home to a large number of flamingos and cormorants. There are also small herds of Arabian oryx and Sand gazelle and the seas around support a large population of Dugong.

Tree of Life

Bahrain’s Tree of Life grows in the middle of the desert with no known water source. In spite of this the tree flowers twice a year and is covered in green leaves.

Bin Mattar House

A retouched and well maintained house of one of Bahrain’s oldest families. This house makes for a wonderful visit for any history buff.

Khamis Mosque

Believed to be the first mosque in Bahrain, built during the era of the Umayyad caliph Omer II(Omar bin Abaulaziz). It is considered to be one of the oldest relics of Islam in the region with the foundation of the mosque believed to have been laid as early as 692 AD.

Arad Fort

A 15th century fort in Arad built in a typical Arab style. Close to the Bahrain International Airport, the fort has been extensively renovated and presents a magnificent sight when it is illuminated at night.

Siyadi House

This is one of the most impressive examples of a 19th century house built by the pearl merchant Ahmed Bin Qassem Siyadi, and has many fine features to look out for, including ornate ceilings, stained-glass windows, carved screens and a large safe set into the wall of a small, upper reception room.

Al Areen Wildlife and Reserve

The Al Areen Wildlife Park has become an integral part of the development and can be seen from the majority of locations. The park is perfect for families and animal lovers to explore at leisure and enjoy the opportunity of seeing animals in the wild.

Sheikh Isa's house

Home of Shaikh Isa Bin Ali Al Khalifa, the ruler of Bahrain at that time. It provides a fine example of local architecture, complete with wind tower, wall carvings and lattice work, and is representative of traditional 19th century life.

Al Areen Wildlife and Reserve

The Al Areen Wildlife Park has become an integral part of the development and can be seen from the majority of locations. The park is perfect for families and animal lovers to explore at leisure and enjoy the opportunity of seeing animals in the wild.

Al Jasra Handicrafts Centre

Located in the village of Al Jasra, experience the practice of local crafts where the centre is divided into small rooms, each containing craftsmen engaged in the traditional arts of pottery, cloth and basket weaving.

Bahrain National Theatre
